We've established a valuable resource for educators!

The Worstell Family Center for Excellence is a YMCA-led initiative dedicated to strengthening the early childhood workforce in Hancock County by developing, supporting, and celebrating childcare professionals.

Goals:

#1: Provide ongoing professional development and childcare support.

#2: Offer American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification training.

#3: Facilitate leadership engagement through Directors' Roundtables.

#4: Focus on staff wellness and career longevity.

Directors' Roundtables

The Early Learning Center is proud to host Directors' Roundtables, bringing together early childhood leaders from across our community to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen the systems that support young children and families. 

The first Directors' Roundtable will be held Wednesday, May 6, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Participants deciding on overall structure, scope, and content for future Roundtable discussions. RSVP by Wednesday, April 29, to Early Learning Center District Director Kari Redman: kredman@findlayymca.com

CPR/First Aid

The Center for Excellence will offer an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification course on Thursday, April 30, from 4-8 p.m. The cost will be $180 for YMCA members and $250 for nonmembers.

SAVE THE DATE: Friday, Aug. 7! Musician, author, and child development specialist Jim Gill will be the keynote at this free event offered to Hancock County childcare professionals with OCCRRA hours thanks to the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. More information will be provided soon.
