Gymnastics

Tumbling Together - Ages 2-3 With An Adult

This is an adult/child interactive class. The instructor will lead the class focusing on beginning gymnastics positions and skills, as well as, direction following, turn-taking, and communicating with others.

Tumbling Tots - Ages 3-5

In this class, children will learn basic gymnastics skills, body positions, terminology, balance/coordination, direction following, turn-taking, and communicating with others. Some of the skills include rolling, cartwheels, bridging, and handstands. Additional beginner skills will be addressed on the equipment-balance beam and the single-rail bar.

Intro to Gymnastics - Ages 5-14

This is a beginner class for those who have little or no gymnastics experience. Skills include rolling, cartwheels, round-offs, handstands, bridging, backbends, board bouncing, as well as, skills on the balance beam and single rail bar. Additional skills are introduced. As skills are mastered, students will be able to move to the next level.

Gymnastics I - Ages 6-14

This class is for those who have gymnastics experience and have mastered the following skills-cartwheel, a round-off, a handstand at the wall for 10 seconds, can hold a bridge for 15 seconds, and can hold a leg up while in a bridge for 5 seconds. Skills in this class include round-off rebounds, 1 handed cartwheel, handstand forwards roll, handstand bridge backbends, kick-overs, and front/ back handsprings. Additional skills for vaulting, on the balance beam and the single-rail bar, will also be taught.

Gymnastics II - Ages 6-14

This class is for those who are consistently able to perform the Gymnastics 1 skills and with proper technique. In this class, you will continue to work and perfect the skills from Gymnastics 1 and you will also be introduced to new and more advanced skills.

Dance

For Ages 3-4

Does your child love to dance? In this class, children will learn basic ballet and jazz dancing skills while gaining rhythm and coordinator and love for music and dance.

For Ages 5-6

In this 30-minute class, students will learn basic fundamentals of jazz, ballet, and basic tumbling techniques. We will be working on rhythm, strength, flexibility, coordination, and love for dance!

In this 30-minute class, students will learn basic fundamentals of jazz and ballet techniques. We will be working on rhythm, strength, coordination, and love for dance!

Judo

Little Samurai - Ages 3-5

Participants will learn basic motor skills, teamwork, and basic judo techniques.

Young Judo - Ages 9-12

Skills taught: Ground pinning and restraining techniques; Throwing techniques; A variety of repeated practice drill elements for the building of muscle strength and endurance.

Adolescent Judo - Ages 13-16

Skills taught: Ground pinning and restraining techniques; Throwing techniques; A variety of repeated practice drill elements for the building of muscle strength and endurance.

Wrestling

K-2 Grade & Grades 3-6

The YMCA Wrestling program provides an introduction to wrestling for boys and girls K through 6th grade. Our goal is to teach each youth wrestler the basics and competitiveness in scholastic wrestling. Participants will work on technique, training, and strategies. Each wrestler will learn positive sportsmanship, leadership, and build confidence on and off the mat.

Required Wrestling Gear/Equipment

Each wrestler is required to wear shorts, socks, and a t-shirt (wear your YMCA Wrestling t-shirt to matches) to each weekly practice/match. Protective headgear, mouthpieces and shoes are optional.
