Group Cycling Member Spotlight - Barb Myers

One of our most popular classes is bringing together people of all ages.

August 27, 2019

Her history with the Y is a long and beneficial one. She taught gymnastics for the YMCA from 1974-1989, and now retired, she goes to cycling classes twice a week, as well as lifting weights every other day. She insists she hasn’t missed a class in years! She lives by this motto: “If there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Group cycling has long been a member favorite at both branches. Chandlar Cramer, the Wellness Director, explained, “Group Cycling is a great way to build cardio endurance while blasting calories – and best of all, doing it at your own pace. You control your intensity!”

Classes are offered at both the Downtown Branch and the East Branch with morning and afternoon classes available. Signing up is simple and easy with our Membership Services at the front desk.

“One of the coolest things about Group Cycle is that anyone can do it! In our cycling room, we dim the lights and crank the music and this atmosphere really allows you to leave everything from your day at the door and really concentrate and just go for it! Enjoy the ride!”
