Facilities Director

Under the direction of the CEO, the Facilities Director has primary responsibility for all YMCA properties including the Downtown YMCA, East Branch YMCA, Child Development Center and rental houses. This person will supervise and work directly with individual Maintenance Technicians, Custodial and Custodial Staff to see that all facilities, vehicles and program sites are maintained in a safe, clean and functional manner that best represents the YMCA.   

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Assumes direct responsibility for membership development, satisfaction and retention
  • Recruit, hire, train and supervise and evaluate all staff/volunteers related to the department
  • Responsible for maintaining and securing an inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to keep the YMCA facilities clean and safe
  • Maintain accurate records as needed for the purpose of program planning, evaluation, and budget development are kept (i.e. payroll, inventory, staff schedules, Preventative maintenance/cleaning schedules) 
  • Act as staff liaison to appropriate committees and the Board of Directors
  • Contributes to providing a safe and member-friendly environment throughout the YMCA
  • Develops and maintains the department’s operational budget.
  • Provides leadership to all relevant committees.
  • Recruits trains and supervise s volunteers and staff in the delivery of membership services and programs
  • Assumes direct responsibility for the facility and activities within at all times.
  • Supervise contracted work for the YMCA

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain accurate records and inventory as needed for the purpose of program planning, evaluation, and budget development are kept (i.e. payroll, inventory, staff schedules, Preventative maintenance/cleaning schedules) 
  • Responsible to help arrange facilities as necessary for programs and meetings in accordance with programming needs.
  • Responsible for annual “Shut Down” week, planning, organizing and supervision of staff and volunteers to effectively complete all work assignments.
  • Be responsive to the ongoing needs and requests of staff and members to insure that facilities and equipment remain in excellent condition for programming purposes.
  • Directly responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment and facilities.
  • Responsible for seeing that all vehicles and equipment are well maintained, properly inspected to meet all safety standards required and procedures of the organization and US DOT Requirements.
  • Assist with the Annual Fundraising Campaign.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring organization facilities are always in compliance with the Fire Marshall requirements (local fire code/state fire code), state boiler inspections, (State Dept. of Housing), elevator inspections (State Dept. of Housing), OMU annual back-flow prevention device testing, ADA Compliance, and Health Department inspections of public use bodies of water.

Gymnastics Instructor

Membership Director

Job Type: Full-Time

General Function:

Primarily responsible for providing direct leadership to areas related to public communications, membership development, membership satisfaction, and membership retention. Responsible for supervising and coordinating all front-line staff and systems that relate to membership reception and services.

 This Director will oversee the processes related to sales of new memberships and data entry. The Membership Director will work as a team member toward the realization of the association's goals and objectives in cooperation with staff, board and committee volunteers.

 The Director of Membership is a self-directed, motivated and creative individual who is responsible for membership operations and development in the areas of membership sales, program sales, member retention, member experience, and the development and support of staff to carryout membership functions. Membership & program marketing responsibilities include working in coordination with the Communications & Marketing department to develop & implement new & returning membership & program acquisition initiatives, retention efforts & member communications.

Specific Administrative Responsibilities Related to Membership Services:

  • Oversee the operations of the front desk and Discovery Center and all staff responsible for receiving new members, supporting membership services and inputting membership data.
  • Responsible for the hiring, scheduling, training, supervising and evaluating of all front-line staff.
  • Responsible for being the staff liaison to the Membership Committee
  • Develops and maintains the department’s operational budget and all records that assist with providing program information to the staff, Board of Directors, United Way and YUSA.
  • Assumes a leadership role with staff training in the areas of membership development, satisfaction and retention
  • Assume a leadership role in the coordination and implementation of all YMCA events and special efforts to raise community awareness, build financial support and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the YMCA.
  • Assumes responsibility for communicating with the local media, developing, and distributing all membership communication and marketing pieces including brochures, newsletters and special event promotion efforts.
  • Develop and implement an effective marketing plan in keeping with the new YUSA branding efforts.

Wellness Supervisor

Job Type: Part-Time

Would you like to support branch operations and administration by ensuring members’ needs are met and the facility is safe and clean? As the Building Supervisor, you will monitor the facility to ensure staff and members are adhering to YMCA policies and practices.

If hired for this position you will walk through the building to ensure safety guidelines and cleanliness standards are maintained and members’ needs are being met.  You will be responsible to ensure staff and members are in compliance with YMCA policies. 

You will support staff by providing breaks and assist staff as needed, support the Membership desk and Welcome Center, and respond to facility maintenance needs in an appropriate manner.

Weekend opening and closing shifts available with the opportunity for additional hours throughout the week.
