Assistant Child Development Director

The YMCA Child Development Center is looking for someone with high energy and a positive attitude to serve as our Assistant Director! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. The Assistant Director will assist the Director in all of the daily operation of the program. Verbal and written communication skills, as well as collaboration skills are essential in assisting the director in advocating for Early Childhood Education and managing our staff. Instructs group classes, provides excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness, engagement and healthy living in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals. Ensure participation, retention and enrollment growth.

Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.

Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Be friendly, alert and responsive to participants.

Keeps accurate class attendance records.

Lifeguard

Swim Lesson Instructor

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Swim Instructor at Findlay YMCA maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swim classes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines and the American Red Cross, having prepared lesson plans accordingly, and supports members and program participants in achieving their goals.
  2. Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers, members or program participants, and colleagues at all levels of the organization; helps participants and families connect with each other and the YMCA; and encourages parent or caregiver involvement.
  3. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers program participants and families to other programs.
  4. Maintains records as required (e.g., attendance, progress reports).
  5. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
  6. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
  7. Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.

 

 

TRX certified instructor

Wellness Supervisor

Location: Downtown Branch & East Branch YMCA

Job Type: Part-Time

Would you like to support branch operations and administration by ensuring members’ needs are met and the facility is safe and clean? As the Building Supervisor, you will monitor the facility to ensure staff and members are adhering to YMCA policies and practices.

If hired for this position you will walk through the building to ensure safety guidelines and cleanliness standards are maintained and members’ needs are being met.  You will be responsible to ensure staff and members are in compliance with YMCA policies. 

You will support staff by providing breaks and assist staff as needed, support the Membership desk and Welcome Center, and respond to facility maintenance needs in an appropriate manner.

Weekend opening and closing shifts available with the opportunity for additional hours throughout the week.
