Youth Sports Assistant

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Develops organizes and implements high-quality youth sports programs. Must be available on nights and weekends.


  1. Supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives.
  2. Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices; monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment as budget permits.
  3. Distributes team practice and game schedules; develops and distributes sports rules, guidelines, and handbooks.
  4. Organizes and conducts sports classes and clinics.
  5. Assists in the marketing and distribution of youth sports program information.
  6. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
  7. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  8. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in the program.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
  10. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends. 20-30 hours per week.


Up to a YMCA Family Membership



  1. One to two years related experience preferred.
  2. Minimum age of 21.
  3. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED;
  4. Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
