Y-PAC Supervisor

Description:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Interacts with new and existing members to help them in achieving their health and well-being goals. Creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities. Key function is to promote our core values of honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, and faith.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervises children in a fun and safe environment.
  2. Communicates with the children and their parents to build positive relationships.
  3. Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living.
  4. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
  5. Utilizes information and equipment to keep the children engaged.
  6. Conducts orientations of equipment and YPAC room to new members.
  7. Maintains and cleans equipment as requested by supervisor.
  8. Be visible in the YPAC; 100% of your shift.
  9. Be visibly standing and interacting with the kids; 95% of your shift.
  10. Take all issues and concerns to your direct supervisor.
  11. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

HOURS

CURRENT:  Mon – Thurs: 4:30 – 7pm

Summertime ONLY:   Mon – Fri: 8:30 – 12:45pm  /  Mon – Thurs: 4:30 – 7pm

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  2. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications; within 90 days of hire date.
  3. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
