TechnoGym Wellness & Free Weight Facility located at both Downtown and East Branch.

 

Our wellness centers are the most complete and up-to-date wellness centers in Northwest Ohio, providing you the best in wellness technology, and opportunity for personal development. Over 9,000 square feet of space filled with cardiovascular equipment, weight training equipment and free weights for your use. Staffed with experienced, trained and certified staff to guide you in developing and maintaining an exercise routine to meet your personal objectives, whether it be cardiovascular conditioning, weight management, rehabilitation of injuries or sport-specific body conditioning. You must be between the ages of 13-18 and have a signed waiver from parent or guardian and completed the Teen Strength Training Class to use the Wellness Center or Weight Room.

For 122 years in Findlay, Ohio, the YMCA has been a leader in promoting health and wellness for the entire family and today thousands of adults, seniors, teens and children use the YMCA to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

No matter what your experience and fitness level there is a YMCA class or program for you. By adding a moderate amount of exercise into your daily life, you can significantly improve your overall health, well-being, quality of life, maintain body weight, reduce the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Body Composition
Find your body fat percentage. A great guide to enhance your personal well-being. Make an appointment with our wellness staff. Service available at both branches.
 
Blood Pressure Checks

Available upon request with our wellness staff. Service available at both branches.

Personal Training
 Having a hard time getting motivated to workout? One-on-One sessions are the answer! For an appointment contact Stephanie Parsons.
 
Teen Strength Training

Mandatory training program for all members 13-15 years of age to use the wellness facilities. Learn the proper techniques to use the equipment in the TechnoGym area as well as the free weights. Program runs for 4 weeks.

Coast to Coast Tour

A fun way to keep track of your cardio minutes! Visit a YMCA in each state and mark it on our map located in the wellness center. Visit 25 states and receive a “prize” for your hard work! See the wellness center staff for more details.

Wellness Orientations

Free orientations are an educational tool that assist YMCA members in implementing safe and effective exercise guidelines. We recommend that new members make an appointment to learn how to use our wellness equipment properly.

Health & Wellness Terms

  • Health Seeker friendly classes. The national YMCA defines a health seekers as all children, youth, teens, adult, and families whose successful pursuit of health and well-being in spirit, mind and body requires continuous supportive relationships and environments.
  • Low Impact: One foot remains in contact with the floor at all times. Low impact classes are good for those just beginning, active-older-adults and pregnant woman.
  • Moderate Impact: One foot remains on the ground with a higher intensity level.
  • High Impact: Both feet leave the floor. High Impact classes are advanced classes, anyone with injuries should avoid these types of classes.

 

Group Exercise: Youth & Teen

Aerobic classes for youth and teens provide appropriate strength and endurance components under the guidance of a trained YMCA Aerobic Instructor. Classes help kids maintain a healthy lifestyle and work toward developing a lifelong appreciation of exercising.
 
Jr. Aerobics
A great way to get the kids moving! This class is a combination of Step Aerobics; Kick-boxing and circuit / interval training. Parent’s are welcome to join. Downtown Branch.
 
Teen Cycling

The class is designed for teenagers. Spin your way to a healthier lifestyle and do it in a fun, upbeat way! East Branch.

Teen Zumba
 Teenagers have the opportunity to exercise to Latin music using basic Latin dance moves. Downtown Branch.

 

Group Exercise: Adults

Ab Blaster (Low Impact option)

30 minute class focusing on strengthening and toning the core muscles. Ball and mats will be used for this class.

All-Star Aerobics (Low - High Impact option)

A floor aerobic class designed for all skill levels. Class components consist of floor aerobics and strength training.

Basic Aerobics (Low Impact option)

Introductory class - learn the basic movements while improving your cardiovascular fitness. Suitable for those new to aerobics and seniors. Class includes floor aerobics and strengthening with bands and weights.

CardioFusion (High Impact option)
 A cardio mix of kick-boxing and core training all in one class. This cardio workout is designed to increase endurance and burn fat.
 
Basic Cycling (Low Impact)
Not ready for an intense ride - this class will be the right pace for you! A less intense class, but still a challenging alternative.
 
Core Ball/Cardio (Low Impact option)

This class is designed to enhance muscular strength and endurance. A focus is put on the core muscle while using the ball.

Group Cycling (Low-Moderate Impact option)

Take your workout to the next level with this powerful interval class. An indoor cycling class based on outdoor riding.

Grab Bag Workout (Low/Moderate Impact)

Mix up your lunch time workout with this instructor’s choice class. Designed for all skill levels.

Pilates (Low Impact)

A non-impact class focusing on the muscles of the core: the abdominal muscles, back muscles, and hips. Exercises preformed on a mat in a relaxed atmosphere.

Power Pump (Low-Moderate Impact)

Add strength and speed to your current fitness regimen. Work with weights, weighted balls, steps and mats.

Power Toning (Low Impact)

Full body strength training class incorporating Yoga, Pilates and weights. 

Sculpt / Tone (Low Impact)

Various methods of resistance training to strengthen, shape and tone the entire body. Combo of weight resistance bands and stability balls to give you the ultimate workout.

Seniors In Motion I (Low Impact)

Designed to improve your strength and flexibility while sitting in a chair.

Seniors In Motion II (Low Impact)

Increase your cardiovascular and muscle strength in this non-impact aerobic workout. A chair is used for stability and support.

Toning / Cardio Interval (Moderate Impact)

A class format that offers step choreography alternating with muscle conditioning segments.

Yolates (Low Impact)

Strengthen and stretch your body and mind with a combo of Yoga and Pilates.

Y-Step (Moderate Impact) 

For all levels of fitness. Choreographed step patterns that are taught to participants with options for a more intense workout if desired.

Yoga (Low Impact)

A multi-level yoga class for strengthening the entire body. Helps reduce stress. Increase flexibility and enhance your feeling of calmness and well-being.

Basic Zumba (Low Impact)

Learn Latin moves, with Latin music in this low impact dance cardio class.

Lunch time Zumba (Low-Moderate Impact)

Low impact, high energy Latin based dance class.

Zumba (Low-Moderate Impact)

Exciting and unique Latin moves and rhythms for an aerobic dance workout.
